About us

The GAFCSC Library was established in 1976 to support the academic journey of officers, directing staff, and chief instructors of the newly established college in their research, teaching, and learning endeavor. The library started with an initial collection of two hundred and ninety-three (293). This later increased to one thousand eight hundred and fifty-four by the end of its first year of operations. The resources of both books and serials were accommodated in the old library building (now accommodating the Research and Development Unit) which is currently adjacent to the Fletchers Mess. ...The library’s collection continued to grow in titles and volumes, and in the year 1999 with the support of Queen Elizabeth of Britain a new edifice was raised for the library to contain increasing student intake as well as accommodate the increasing functions of the library with the emergence of ICT. The GAFCSC Library was inaugurated on November 8, 1999, by His Royal Highness, Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh. The GAFCSC library serves as a vital repository of knowledge and an environment that promotes the creation of new knowledge and collaboration.
